In tribute to Belle, my sweetThanks to Myriam |

BELLE Belle, you were so beautiful! You didn't make it into the Lassie film series. But for all of us in the family, you won The César for best companion The César for most loyal dog. And if there were a César to be awarded for all your qualities, it would be so big that no one could give it to you. I award it to you... Belle, thank you for preparing me so well for your passing. For 13 years you've been my companion, sharing the good times and the bad, always present. In the last few months, you were weakening, you couldn't hear well, you slept a lot and every morning, I was afraid I'd find you lifeless... But also when you woke up, I appreciated so much to have you still with me a little. And when you had to leave because the disease was going to make you suffer, I knew how to say goodbye and thank you for staying with me all these years. Your photo hangs in my hallway and when I come home from work, you're there, just like before. And now there's a BB bichon who's brought joy back into the house: CHIPIE. How can you not draw a parallel, even if Belle and Chipie are so different? Belle needed more tenderness at the end of her life, Chipie needs it, to make her feel secure, at the beginning of her life. Belle's advanced age meant she couldn't go for long walks, Chipie's young age meant she couldn't either. I hope you don't mind, Belle, having a new little companion and that wherever you are, you're protecting my little Chipie. But I'll never forget Belle. |
