The rabies

The rabies virus is always fatal and can be transmitted to humans.

In a large part of Europe, there is an outbreak of rabies affecting fox populations. Affected foxes, losing their natural distrust of man, approach homes and transmit the disease to domestic animals (dogs, cats, cattle). These domestic animals can in turn infect humans.

Given the seriousness of the disease, and the fact that there is no cure, it is important to do everything possible to prevent it.

Correctly vaccinate all dogs. An annual booster is mandatory. If they are not vaccinated, dogs must always be kept on a leash, and access to certain public places (camping, exhibitions, etc.) is forbidden.

In addition, any animal (whether vaccinated or not) that has bitten a human or another animal, for whatever reason, must be examined by a veterinarian 3 times, one week apart. This examination will determine exactly whether the animal was shedding rabies virus at the time of the bite. If so, the person bitten will be vaccinated, before the first symptoms appear.
