In doggie heaven...

Jason has gone to join Mishka,
Tired of his miseries, his worries...
He's gone straight up to dog heaven
And with him, he talks about all his family...
Mishka: - “Do you know little Stéphane? Did he play with you?
Jason: - “He's grown up, he's happy, he's a dad...
I looked after him, his wife and his child.
Mishka: - “Did you see Mom and Dad again?”
Jason: - “They're always there, always thinking of you...
I used to go to their house, where you sit like a king.
We used to get together there with the mistresses
And it was a haven of tenderness for us;
I had friends...
Remember Kalin...
There was Nouchka, there was Gamin,
We got along well, we were friends...
But I didn't like Pitchou, the littlest one!”

And they talk and they talk about a life full of love,
filled with daily caresses and sweet words,
Of “Maman's” voice that cradled them,
Of her kisses on the nose, received with closed eyes...
They remember with delight how proud they were
When they walked beside “Papa”;
How they loved the friendly pat on the side
That rewarded them for being obedient;
And fears and games come flooding back,
They reassure themselves and comment with pleasure.
The conversation goes on and on and on
And this August 6th, will end late at night...
Jason and Mishka both cuddle up
And happily drifted off to sleep
In the Garden of Eden, like old friends,
Around our love, forever reunited...
