In tribute to

Nordy, my baby...

Thanks to

Francis

Almost 14 years ago, without knowing it, a little animal was to change my life.

A two-month-old Westie named Nordy was given to me by my wife Michelle, her family and friends, on my 50th birthday.

Today, I'm almost 14 years older, and I've grown old with him.

I've learned to love him, to consider him a member of my family.

I became his accomplice, his “dad”, he was a bit “my baby”, he was part of my life.

On Tuesday, November 8, he left us for dog heaven, struck down by rapid and fatal kidney failure.

I try to remain distant and dignified, but I'm very sad and my heart aches to think of his beauty, his kindness, his great gentleness and all the memories I have with him.

He was my gift and his presence was a gift.

We miss him enormously and he leaves a great emptiness that is hard to bear.

A page in our lives has been turned.

Time will undoubtedly erase our sorrow, but his memory will remain forever engraved in our hearts.

From now on, his ashes will be laid to rest in his favourite room in the house.

May his soul rest in peace.
