Man has always found the company of animals interesting. There are many domesticated animals living among us. They were once wild and our ancestors domesticated them for various purposes. Cows and sheep were domesticated for their milk and meat and various other animals for unique purposes. One such animal is the dog. This animal has become one of the few known breeds of wild animal to come into close contact with man. These animals have some very interesting characteristics that have helped both man and dog to flourish among us. There are many different breeds of dog living among us. The most popular are hunting and guard dogs. One of the most popular breeds is the Terrier. From this breed comes a dog called the Kaikadi. This is the terrier breed found in India. It is most commonly seen in central India and is named after a nomadic tribe. They are descendants of the terrier breed and have very special and unique qualities. Terriers are generally small, wiry and very active. The Kaikadi is not very small and is built to a medium height. Their average height is around 40 cm. They are very powerful dogs, and their main role is that of a watchdog. As the Kaikadi tribe is nomadic, they face many unexpected dangers. Consequently, the Kaikadi dog was created to be absolutely courageous and will guard its group with ferocity. Kaikadi dogs have very powerful thighs and hocks. They are also very good at hunting hares and vermin. This makes them very useful. The tail is characteristic of the Kaikadi in that it is long and tapered. The ears are also long and pricked when the dog is alert, a sure sign that the dog is ready to attack. The head is also long, and the eyes are prominent and distinct. They are highly intelligent animals and you can see it in their eyes. Kaikadi dogs have smooth coats and require no maintenance. They can be seen moving freely in crowds and are rarely on a leash. If they are confined to small spaces, they will become extremely aggressive and should be left in the open air. As guard dogs, they are very territorial and do not tolerate strangers. This dog has been bred to live the hard life, and it shows in its personality. It is a very strong and affectionate animal for its family. It is an aggressive dog and is rarely taught to control itself. Since herds need good guard dogs, these dogs are released to mark their territories and protect them viciously. The Kaikadi is a tough dog for the great plains, and does not settle well in urban areas. They are at home in large areas and need plenty of exercise. |
