Appearance of the Larson Lakeview Bulldogge
The Larson Lakeview Bulldogge is bred for size and strength, and is therefore larger than the Olde English Bulldogge. The square head is large in proportion to the body and moderately wrinkled. The muzzle is short and broad. The bite is square but inferior. Canine teeth are large. The ears are set high and wide, and can be either pink or button-shaped. The dewlap consists of two folds. The cheeks are semi-pendant. The neck is short and not quite as wide as the head. The body is very muscular, but symmetrical and well-proportioned. Very broad shoulders with well-proportioned muscles. The chest is deep with well rounded ribs. The belly is tucked in. The front legs are straight or slightly sloping. The hind legs are well muscled, but equally proportioned, and neither pocketed nor cowlicked. The thighs are very muscular. The tail is often bent and close to the body. The coat is short, close and of medium thickness. Color is usually brindle on white. Brindle can be red, gray, black or brown. Full calicos are also available. At the withers, Larson Lakeviews measure 51+ centimeters for males, 41+ centimeters for females, and weigh between 32 and 50 kilos for males and 23 and 41 kilos for females. |
Temperament of the Larson Lakeview Bulldogge
The Larson Lakeview Bulldogge is very friendly, but a fearless opponent to anyone or anything that threatens its family. The aim of training this dog is to achieve pack leader status. It's a natural instinct for a dog to have a command in his pack. When we humans live with dogs, we become their pack. The whole pack cooperates under one leader. Lines are clearly drawn and rules are defined. Because a dog communicates his displeasure by growling and finally biting, all other humans must be higher in the pecking order than the dog. Humans have to be the ones making the decisions, not the dogs. This is the only way your relationship with your dog can be a complete success. |
Needs and activities of the Larson Lakeview Bulldogge
The Larson Lakeview Bulldogge will do well in an apartment if sufficiently exercised. They are relatively inactive indoors and will do best with at least a medium-sized yard. They should have a brisk walk or jog every day. When walking, the dog should be heeled to the side or behind the person holding the leash, because in a dog's mind, the leader leads the way, and that leader must be the human. |
Maintenance of the Larson Lakeview Bulldogge
The short, hard coat is easy to groom. Comb and brush with a firm bristle brush and bathe only when necessary. This breed is a medium excretor. |
