The Senegal jackal (Canis aureus anthus) is a subspecies of canid found in West Africa. Also known as the slender jackal, it is the largest of the jackal species. This possible subspecies of the golden jackal is not recognized by all classifications. According to a 2015 study, Canis aureus is a distinct species from Canis anthus. |
