In tribute to

Little Snoopy

Thanks to

Mary-Sol

I don't know where you came from, because you were found wandering, lost and wounded, and then locked up in a cage.

By chance we met and when my eyes fell on you, I knew I'd finally found the companion I'd been hoping for.

Of course, things weren't always easy: you had a tendency to run, you were so naughty, so clever, you still managed to get away.

But we learned to live together, we had a lot of affinities, I liked everything about you, even your foibles and your foolishness I forgave.

And then how many times I shivered when you went for a walk, afraid that a car had run you over or another dog had attacked you.

In the evenings, you'd wait for me to come home, and each time it was a joy, because you gave me so much love! You were small, but you had such a big heart!

And then, one fine day, while we were both out for a walk, we came across death at the bend in the path, death for you had the mad eyes of a furious hound who didn't give you a chance.

So many years of friendship and love, today I mourn your absence and my sorrow is immense.

Little Snoopy, you didn't have a pedigree, but I always said you were the perfect cross between a Princess and a troubadour.

And that's how I want to keep thinking about it, and dreaming that one day I'll find you again.
