In tribute to

To Clint, our companion

Thanks to

Claude

You arrived among us on April 14, 1996, with the onerous task of making us forget Hutch, who had left us far too soon the day before.

Three months later we brought you a playmate, Mail, who also left us prematurely in January 1999.

Socks then came along, and for eight years the two of you have been wonderful companions for the whole family.

Our children grew up with you; they tried to educate you, and we immediately crushed their attempts.

I remember you climbing onto a chair, putting your paws on the table, our "Clint Non" interspersed with bursts of laughter urging you forward until you were on the table with the look of a beaten dog...

You loved freedom, as evidenced by all the times you ran away from home and introduced us to the region, where you were fortunately always picked up by kind souls.

Two years ago, during one of these runaways, you were poisoned, and our vet performed a miracle by bringing you back to us.

On February 27, 2007, your heart gave out; we knew it could happen, but we were looking after you and never imagined it could happen so quickly.

It's been a sad family ever since; Socks seems to call you regularly.

Hutch, Mail, Clint, we won't forget you.
