In tribute to To my MaxouThanks to Renée |
Letter to my little Maxou who left me on December 12, 2005. My little dog, I'm always thinking of you, you're always walking around in my head, the house is empty when Alexis leaves. You were so sweet, my little friend, I've never found in a human so much loyalty, so much tenderness, when you exasperated me with your barking I'd scold you, you in return would stroke me with your tongue, you were never resentful, how many lessons you taught me. I can still see you happy, making great leaps while wagging your tail. As usual, I bought you Christmas presents, convinced that you weren't going to leave us so soon. You loved opening all those pretty packages wrapped in paper and golden string with your fangs. It was December 12 at 11 p.m. When you left outside, it was cold and so was my heart, but your eyes stayed open to look at us, and it was without a “wow” that you left us. I scattered your ashes on the hill where you so loved to run, and chose a clump of flowering heather to make a shroud for you. Rest in peace my darling little dog, you'll remain hidden in a corner of my heart for the rest of my life. |
