Yamakariya Inu |
| The Yamakariya Dog was an extinct native Japanese breed of dog. Historically, it was one of many local breeds (similar to the Matagi Inu ancestor) found in certain mountainous regions of Japan. Because these dogs were primarily used as working dogs before the standardization of modern breeds, very few written records or detailed descriptions of them survive. Like many other Japanese local breeds, they were largely assimilated by larger populations or became completely extinct with the modernization of the country. |
