This breed is also known as			Maeda Ken Kaga Dog

The Maeda dog is a breed of sighthound once widespread among the ancient Kaga clan. It now appears to be extinct. It is a medium-sized, stocky, and muscular dog. Its legs are slightly elongated. Its coat is short, soft, and a glossy jet black. Its eyes are large, and its ears are slightly drooping. Its face is canine. Its canines are slightly longer and protrude slightly from its mouth. Its tail is book-shaped. It has a strong character, but is patient, even when alone. It is lively and gentle. Loyal. Its name comes from the feudal lord Kaga, who owned one since the reign of Toshiie Maeda.
