A brief presentation of the Springerdoodle
The Springerdoodle is a popular designer dog and is a combination of an English Springer Spaniel and a Poodle. They are medium-sized, intelligent, active and playful dogs that make fantastic pets. They get on well with children and other dogs, and integrate well into a multi-dog household. They have a thick, double-layered coat that can be medium to long in length. The most common colors are black, brown, white, cream and combinations of these. Springerdoodles don't bark much and love to swim. They are also good at obedience and agility.

A Springerdoodle is a designer dog and is a cross between a purebred English Springer Spaniel and a purebred Poodle.

Spaniel-type dogs are thought to have originated in Spain, and were carried to other parts of the world by the Romans or by trading ships. Before the invention of guns, Spaniels were used to flush out game for hunters. In the 1880s, Springer Spaniels and Cocker Spaniels were often born in the same litter, the larger puppies being used to scout game and called Springers. The Kennel Club (England) granted them separate status in 1902. The English Springer Spaniel is thought to be the ancestor of most of today's Spaniels. The breed went on to become popular in Canada and the United States, and was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1910.

A little of the Poodle
The Poodle may seem to hate getting its feet wet, but these dogs are not only excellent swimmers, but their coats are also adapted to water. They are also extremely intelligent dogs, ranked second only to the Border Collie. Its origins lie in Germany, where it was known as the Pudelhund, meaning "to splash in the water". It was also popular in France, where it was called "chien canard ou Caniche", due to its ability to retrieve ducks. There are three different sizes of Poodle: Standard, Miniature and Toy. The latter was very popular in France for its ability to perform tricks, and was also highly prized in the royal courts during the reign of Louis XVI and Queen Anne.

A Springerdoodle is a medium-sized dog weighing between 13.5 and 27 kilos and reaching a height of 61 centimeters. It has a thick, double-layered coat that can be medium to long in length. They thrive on mental and physical stimuli, and love to learn tricks and participate in dog sports.

Needs and activities of the Springerdoodle
Springerdoodles are active, energetic dogs that need regular exercise to stay fit and happy. Your dog will love going for long walks, and they also love to swim, so a trip to the beach or river would be a great idea. They're also very social dogs and will enjoy interacting with other dogs at the dog park. Springerdoodles also like to chase balls and go for walks in a fenced garden to burn off excess energy. He'll love to play with toys indoors, and is equally happy lounging with the family. These dogs need space and won't do well in an apartment. They are not sensitive to weather conditions and will be happy to go for walks in both summer and winter, but try not to exercise your dog too hard in the midday heat.

Maintenance of the Springerdoodle
The level of maintenance required will depend on the coat your Springerdoodle inherits from its parent breeds. The Poodle is hypoallergenic and doesn't shed much, while the English Springer Spaniel has a double coat that can be wavy and feathered. They shed moderately throughout the year and need regular brushing to prevent clumping. Once or twice a week should be enough for your dog to look good and get rid of loose hair. They may need clipping in summer to keep them cool. Bathing is only necessary occasionally, but ears should be checked regularly for dirt. Teeth should be brushed daily to prevent dental problems. Nails can be trimmed if regular exercise doesn't wear them down.
