| This hybrid is a cross between the Beagle and the Basset Bordeaux (Basset Hound and Dogue de Bordeaux). Because it's a new breed and the parent breeds vary so much in size, it's difficult to determine what the Bebasset Bordeaux will look and behave like, so it's best to rely on information from the parent breeds. They are good hunters, excellent watchdogs and are all known to be affectionate, alert and friendly family companions. As long as they are socialized early, they make good pets and get on well with other pets and children. However, you should supervise them with young children. |

| The Beagle began life in England in the early 1800s as a rabbit hunter like the Basset Hound. They are thought to have one of the best noses and are also one of the most relaxed and friendly. The Beagle is related to the North Country Beagle, Talbot Hound, Southern Hound and possibly even the Harrier. According to reports, the Beagle is an ancestor of hunting packs that also hunted deer. | Although the exact origin of the Basset Bordeaux is unknown, it is suspected that the breed originated in France, where its two parent breeds originated. The Basset Bordeaux is thought to have originated around 20 years ago, when the hybrid breed began to gain popularity as a means of reducing breed disease. The Basset Bordeaux is descended from the Basset Hound and the Dogue de Bordeaux. The Basset Hound was originally bred to track hares and rabbits, while the Dogue de Bordeaux was used as a guard dog. The Basset Bordeaux is not officially recognized by the AKC due to its hybrid status. | ||

| Bebasset Bordeaux can have hazel, brown or amber eyes, which can be a little droopy like the Basset Hound and Dogue de Bordeaux. Their big nose can be black, brown or isabella, and their short, dense coat is usually black, brown, red, fawn, white, Isabella, brindle, pied or any combination of these. Their undercoat is generally weather-resistant and water-repellent, so they can withstand rain but should not be kept outdoors in freezing weather. Because the three parent breeds vary in size from medium to giant, your Bebasset Bordeaux may be medium to large, weighing between 27 and 41 kilos, with a large head, muscular legs and floppy ears. |

| Because the Bebasset Bordeaux is a member of the Beagle and Basset Hound family, they are extremely friendly dogs. In fact, even the Dogue de Bordeaux is a gentle, devoted breed and these hybrids are perfect for those with children and other pets, as they are more laid-back than most breeds and can tolerate a lot of aggravation. | This breed can be lazy and tends to become overweight if it doesn't get enough exercise. Your Bebasset Bordeaux may need extra encouragement to get up and move, but once they're on their feet, they're ready to go for hours. | This breed is easy to care for because of their short, straight coat. Brushing them about once or twice a week with a pin brush or smooth brush should be sufficient. However, you may want to brush them a little more during the shedding season to avoid excessive hair on furniture and your clothes. You can use a shredder, if necessary, depending on the amount of shedding your dog does. Be sure to check and clean their ears once a week and brush their teeth with a special dog toothpaste to prevent tooth decay.
