A brief presentation of the English Sprointer |
| The English Sprointer is a new type of dog that was created by mixing an English Pointer and an English Springer Spaniel, and it's a gentle breed that makes an excellent pet. Not much is known about this breed since it was created so recently. However, considering the characteristics of the parent dogs, we can determine that this specific crossbreed should be an extremely friendly and intelligent pet. They are far too gentle and sociable to be guard dogs, and can sometimes have difficulty concentrating when trained, but they remain excellent pets that are sure to brighten up your life. |

| The English Springer Spaniel was considered the same as the Cocker Spaniel until 1902, when they finally became their own breed. The larger dogs were used to hunt and flush larger game, and the smaller dogs hunted woodcock, hence the names of the different breeds. In the early 1900s, these dogs made their debut in the USA and Canada. The English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Association was formed in 1924 and was responsible for the breed's growing popularity. At first, the same dog could often be seen competing in the field as well as at shows, but eventually there was a separation between the field Springer Spaniel and the show Springer Spaniel. | ||

| The English Pointer is an ancient breed that has existed since the mid-17th century. The actual country of origin is thought to be Spain, but England is often credited with refining the breed. Ancestors are thought to include Spanish Pointers, Greyhounds, Bull Terriers and Spanish Setters. They were brought to Britain by British army officers during the War of the Spanish Succession. Around the same time, Italian Pointers were brought to England and bred with Spanish Pointers, creating the English Pointer. These dogs were used in the field to hunt and signal hares. | This hybrid breed is elegant and has a long tail, unless it's docked. They generally take on the coat of the English Pointer parent. These dogs will adopt more specific characteristics of the English Springer Spaniel and English Pointer. English Springer Spaniels are medium-sized and have compact body types. The lines of the top of the skull and muzzle should be parallel. They have long ears and teeth that meet in a scissor bite. Their heads are large but proportionate to the body. Their necks and heads are about the same length, and they have moderate stops. In most cases, the tail is docked and carried horizontally or slightly vertically. English Pointers are agile and compact, with noble heads that they carry proudly. They have muscular bodies and noses that sit high on the head, and muzzles that have defined stops. Their pendant-shaped ears are slightly pointed and their necks are long and straight. Tails are tapered. |

| English Sprointers are friendly but can be wary of strangers. They make excellent pets and are very loyal. A more accurate description of the conception breed's personality can be determined by examining those of the parent breeds. The English Springer Spaniel is a happy breed with lots of energy. These dogs love to play with all family members, including children. This breed can be good watchdogs who will alert you to any visitors, but they are far too friendly to be protective watchdogs. | These dogs are very active and need to be exercised at least 1-2 hours a day. They are excellent pets for active family members. English Springer Spaniels can be difficult to live with if not sufficiently exercised. English Pointers are also very active and need plenty of exercise. They mainly enjoy hunting, but will also love to sign up for agility or tracking activities. This breed can develop anxiety and bad behavior if not sufficiently exercised. Your English Sprointer will thrive in a busy, outdoor lifestyle. |
Maintenance of the English Sprointer |
| The best way to brush these dogs is with a curry brush. If these dogs have the coat of an English Springer Spaniel, they will need to be brushed about 3 times a week. Some people choose to trim the fur around the head, ears, feet, neck and tail. They need trimming every six to eight weeks, which can be done by a professional groomer who can also bathe them. English Pointers are also low-maintenance and should be brushed about once a week. They will only need to be bathed three or four times a year. In addition to coat maintenance, these dogs will need their teeth brushed. This should be done at least two or three times a week, unless it can be done every day. They also need their nails trimmed every month or two, and their ears cleaned once a week. |
