Miniatuur Bullmastiff |
|
This charming companion dog originated from crossing smaller specimens of the Bullmastiff breed with the English Bulldog and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Designed to recreate the old British guard and working dog crosses that gave rise to the modern Bullmastiff, this medium-sized, bulldog-type dog is similar in shape and size to some Olde English Bulldogges. The name "Miniature Bullmastiff" is misleading, as this bandog is by no means a small dog. It is a very agile and athletic dog, with a robust build, strong bone structure, and muscular muscles. Healthy, intelligent, and playful, it makes an excellent pet. Generally friendly and even-tempered, the Miniature Bullmastiff can sometimes be aggressive toward other dogs. Its short coat is flat, dense, and smooth, and its solid fawn color is highly prized, but it is commonly found in a variety of other colors. Specimens measuring less than 50 cm at the withers are preferred, and the average height is about 43 cm. |
