A brief presentation of the Smooth Fo-Chon
The Smooth Fo-Chon is a charming dog of hybrid design that is a mix of Bichon frise and Fox Terrier Smooth. It's a small dog that generally weighs between 3 and 7 kilos. This feisty little dog measures between 23 and 25.5 centimeters. This is a gentle, active little dog. This dog has a lively nature and loves to play. He is extremely loyal to his master. Its small size makes it an excellent choice for an apartment or small house. In his spare time, he loves to be spoiled and held. It's the ideal companion dog.

A little of the Fox Terrier Smooth

         
The history of the Fox Terrier Smooth goes back to Great Britain, where it was used by farmers to hunt vermin. It then became popular as a fox hunter. It was one of the first breeds to take part in dog shows. In 1885, the Fox Terrier Smooth was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club and entered in the terrier group. The Fox Terrier Smooth is a very friendly dog with humans, but doesn't always get along with other animals. They have a very strong propensity for hunting, and it's not uncommon for these feisty dogs to kill other, smaller animals.

A little of the Bichon frise
The history of the Bichon frise goes back to Spain, where it was often used as a seadog. Italian sailors introduced these fluffy dogs to the nobility, where they quickly became favored companions. The breed spread to continental Europe and became very popular in France. In 1955, the Bichon frise was introduced to the United States. In 1972, the Bichon frise was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club as a non-sporting dog.

Appearance of the Smooth Fo-Chon
The Smooth Fo-Chon has a medium-length coat that is extremely soft and downy. It tends to tangle easily and therefore needs to be brushed frequently. He can be white, cream, black, brown, fawn or bicolor. Its eyes are bright and its face resembles that of a fox. The small dog's ears tend to be floppy like those of the Bichon, but some dogs show a little percussion at the base of the ear. Its build is small but lean and muscular. Despite its athletic build, this little dog can become a little chubby if it doesn't get enough exercise.

Temperament of the Smooth Fo-Chon
This little dog is lively and adorable. It is very close to its owner and family. This little companion is highly intelligent. He loves to play and interact with people. He can be a little irritable if he hears an unusual noise or sees a stranger. Caution should always be exercised when introducing the Smooth Fo-Chon to other pets. His prey instinct can kick in with smaller animals, and he may try to bully or injure them. This little fellow doesn't always like small children. When spoiled, he can become very protective of his owner, and can be a little snippy towards strangers.

Needs and activities of the Smooth Fo-Chon
The Smooth Fo-Chon is a rambunctious little dog. He loves to play and go for walks. If he gets enough exercise, he enjoys cuddles and moments of rest. Care should always be taken when taking Smooth Fo-Chon to a dog park, as he thinks he's a big dog in a small dog's body and can get into fights with other dogs. These little dogs also often chase birds, squirrels and other small creatures. Their hunting instinct is very high. Unless the Smooth Fo-Chon is very well trained, it should always be walked on a leash in case it decides to go after another dog or animal. He can adapt to life in an apartment, but will also appreciate a home with a yard in which he can explore, and he may also enjoy digging a few holes in the garden.

Maintenance of the Smooth Fo-Chon
The Smooth Fo-Chon needs daily brushing to keep its coat tangle-free. Use a long-bristle brush to smooth the coat, then comb through to make sure there are no tangles. Some owners choose to take them to the groomer and have their fluffy fur cut short for easier maintenance. Once a week, you should clean his ears and wipe away any debris. Many owners choose to brush their small dog's teeth every other day to prevent gum disease and freshen his breath. His nails often stay short naturally due to exercise, but some owners choose to trim their dog's nails once a month.
