A brief presentation of the Border Collie Bull Staffy
Courageous, loyal and playful, the Border Collie Bull Staffy is a cross between the Border Collie and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. This breed can become a nuisance barker if early training is not provided. The Border Collie Bull Staffy is likely to resemble the Staffordshire Bull Terrier in appearance in addition to dominant traits. Although its history is not well documented, the breed was bred for strength and a watchful eye when in the field. This alert canine breed is known for providing excellent guarding services in addition to making a wonderful pet. The breed will probably take second place to the Staffordshire Bull Terrier in terms of short but dense coat. Maintenance is easy with daily brushing and regular exercise.

History of the Border Collie Bull Staffy
The Border Collie Bull Staffy mix results from the parent breeds, the Border Collie and the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Like many other hybrid breeds, the origin of this breed is largely unknown. Hybrid breeds are often crossed to eliminate previous health problems. The parent breeds of the Border Collie Bull Staffy are both recognized by the AKC. However, due to its hybrid status, the Border Collie Bull Staffy is not officially registered.

The Border Collie Bull Staffy is a relatively healthy breed with very few health problems. There was evidence that the Border Collie can be traced back to wood carvings created by Thomas Beckwith. The first version of the Border Collie was made up of rough-coated and smooth-coated varieties with an appearance similar to the modern version. The history of the Border Collie is often disputed due to the many existing theories on the breed's origin. At one point, it was believed that Queen Victoria had fallen in love with the breed during a trip to Balmoral. In 1906, the Border Collie standard was introduced to the public. This affectionate, lively breed was sometimes used as a guide dog. In 1995, the Border Collie was recognized by the American Kennel Club.

A little of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier
Like the Border Collie, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier was known for its agility in the field. It was crossed with the Old English Bulldog and the Black and White Terrier. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier was bred to be friendly to humans and became a loving companion, despite being used for dog fighting. In 1935, the English Kennel Club recognized the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. In 1974, the AKC officially recognized the breed. While its original purpose was as a fighter in the ring, the loving dog was adored by families.

Appearance of the Border Collie Bull Staffy
With hybrid breeds, each dog can vary in appearance due to genetics. While this may be the case, the Border Collie Bull Staffy is known to closely resemble the Staffordshire Bull Terrier in appearance. Its athletic, muscular build is due to the Staffy. Its short tail doesn't take after the Border Collie, which has a perky tail covered with long fur. Its dark, rounded eyes also resemble the Staffy. His coat is short but dense and water-repellent. Its powerful muzzle tapers slightly to the nose. The nose is generally dark in color. The body of this robust breed is proportional in length to the rest of the body.

The Border Collie Bull Staffy inherits much of its personality from both parent breeds. They are protective, affectionate, energetic, intelligent and playful. This breed makes an exceptionally well-balanced family companion. It loves to be in action and prefers to be around people. Guarding the house is one of its top priorities, whether indoors or out. The Border Collie Bull Staffy gets on very well with children. Because he can be hesitant around strangers, it's imperative to provide early socialization so that this breed fully accepts others. This guarded breed will want to protect itself from intruders and other animals, so extra precautions must be taken with them. Use positive reinforcement with your dog to prevent any cases of frightening aggression. The Border Collie Bull Staffy is considered an intelligent breed that will quickly learn how to behave with its family. Its energy levels are very high.

Needs and activities of the Border Collie Bull Staffy
It's highly recommended to provide your Border Collie Bull Staffy with the necessary exercise to maintain physical and mental stimulation. This breed has high energy levels, requiring intense play and work. The Border Collie parent loves a job to do and the Staffy has the genetics for alertness, so your hybrid will enjoy agility competitions, hiking and maybe even flyball. An hour a day of energy expenditure will keep your hybrid content and feeling useful. The Border Collie Bull Staffy will do best in a home with a spacious yard. Apartment living is not recommended, as this breed likes to bounce and can engage in property destruction if it doesn't have the necessary outlets. This versatile canine breed would thrive in both climates, but a warm climate is preferable.

Maintenance of the Border Collie Bull Staffy
The Border Collie Bull Staffy is not considered a hypoallergenic breed. If you're allergic to dander, you'll want to reduce the frequency of shedding by brushing daily. Daily brushing will also remove dead hairs. Shedding levels are moderate for this breed, and it's important to use a pin brush or comb for easy maintenance and tangle control. Even though the coat is short, it is dense, requiring maintenance to look neat. Your hybrid's teeth need regular cleaning, as plaque can build up and lead to decay or periodontal disease. Nail trimming is essential, especially in a moving breed that can be prone to nail tearing and cracking if left too long.
